Date Night (kind of …)

limon restaurant, dinner, food and wine, cooking, culinary, take out, roasted chicken, peru

Our 4th date, six and a half years ago was at the laundry.  Lenny really wanted to see me (said he could not get enough of me) and asked me to come with him to do laundry (yes, I really could not get enough of him, either) and grab take out.  Tonight we had to do laundry before our company arrives and we are down to the bare minimum in the house with regards to food, so we decided to make it date night.

Before we headed out for our “date night” I decided to grab a quick run and in the process our friend, Evelyn surprised us by bringing us dinner from Limon.  This was definitely a great treat as we would have just gone with Chinese takeout.  We would much rather eat dinner from Limon (they reopened as a new little place as the original caught on fire, the new place has a lower price point & smaller menu).  Evelyn picked up a roasted chicken, mixed greens and a little appetizer called a taca.  The chicken was really flavorful, mildly spicy and a little sweet, roasted perfectly and very moist.  As well the dressing on the salad was so light, I loved how it tasted non-oily and the little taca with pickled onions (we love these, ate them all the time in Mexico) was really good;  I am not sure what it was made of besides some rice, but it was smooth, not overly fried and really flavorful.

The end result was the perfect date night, not the laundry part, but the great dinner (Thanks Evelyn) and being with my man before our company arrives!
