What a great post and great trip! I am planning to go to a conference in Palm Springs next October, was planning just to go to LA but maybe a stop a SF visit chezus, and then follow your road plan.

What a great 24,24,24 idea! I was particularly interested in the part about Death Valley and Stovepipe Wells since we have just finished planning a family road trip down there for next summer!
