Baguettes with Fra Mani Salametto and Roquefort
One of our favorite meals when we are in Paris simply involves making a few stops: one at the fromage shop, one at the boucher, one at the stand de fruit , one at the boulangerie, one at the pâtisserie, and last but not least one at the magasin de vin. This simple meal of cheese, bread, fruit and wine satisfies us terribly – the freshness of every little morsel that melts on our tongues all the way to our bellies. We really eat like this almost everyday we are there, whether it be for an early dinner before going out or a light little snack in the afternoon, it is just divine nd comfortable.
When we get home we get into our regular routine and don’t eat that way any longer. Tonight I was craving something simple and comfortable and my mind wandered over to one of our favorite meals, maybe it also had to do with the fact that I have had visions on Paris on my mind very often lately. Regardless, the meal was simply wonderful and almost as equally as good.
One the cutting board tonight was: Fra Mani Salametto, warm and crusty baguette from Paris Bakers, baby romaine leaves drizzled with Dijon, red wine and olive oil, very pungent Roquefort and sweet sweet clementines; we had just worked out so we did not have wine, normally I would have added a really nice Bordeaux!

[...] was craving quiche all day today. I twittered about it all day. Maybe it was all this Paris talk lately, that made me think about comfort food, which for us, happens to include French food. [...]
sounds wonerful, this meal combination! simple but so full of flavours of baguette, roqufort, vinaigrette and clementines. delicious!
D’accord! The rainy, windy days of Paris are perfect for an in-home picnic…fresh baguette with butter, ham and cheese. Give us a glass of Bordeaux and an apricot tart, and the day is done. Happy is in the building. Thanks for the memories.
