Ashley, over at A Year in the Kitchen, is hosting this weeks Tuesdays With Dorie Challenge or as Lenny likes to call it, Tuesdays With the Devil. He says it is making us FAT! Ashley, should be an inspiration for all of us, not only is she part of TWD; but, she has a fitness/diet blog, that is very inspiring!

Back to all things fattening. I was a bit suspect about this recipe for a couple reasons, I am not overly fond of nutmeg and my friend, E. has a banana bread recipe, that is really to die for! I decided to make this bread Saturday, in between paint coatings drying, so that we would have it for breakfast on Sunday. The recipe was fairly straightforward and not time-consuming at all. I did like the fact that the chocolate was not over bearing (and I am a chocolate addict) and it tasted more like banana bread and was not over powered by the rum (I used brandy) or the nutmeg.

Verdict: it was tasty as all of Dorie’s recipes have been. I loved making it so much the first time, that I made it again (in the same day) with the intentions of giving it away; well, we ate it! The only compliant we had was that it was a bit dry (and I baked for an hour 20 minutes, next time I would not bake it as much and I may add another banana). Otherwise, it was very tasty and as you can tell from the photos, Lenny had no problem being tempted by the devil!

Recipe.
